The run is being produced by SRB Productions whose main goal is produce fun events that will bring awareness and funds to charitable organizations. Our featured Charity for the 2012 South Walton Adventure run is Food for Thought.
The Captain’s ship became known as the Jolie Rouge – because it was the original ship to fly the Jolly Roger. Captain S. Walton set sail after ships coming from the Gulf of Mexico, knowing full well that these would hold the best of everything. This worked out well for the captain and he amassed a great treasure that he kept on board with him.
In a treacherous turn of events, the Captain’s crew declared mutiny and in order to save the treasure and self, the captain set fire to the ship after he threw the treasure overboard and tied a barrel that would float to it, so he could retrieve it later. The boat went up in flames faster than the captain thought and no one survived. The treasure drifted to the shores of South Walton County and the pirates want it back.
